Retired professional AFL player tuned Sports Speaker, Dustin Fletcher, played for Essendon Football Club.

Essendon Football Club recruited Dustin in the 1992 National Draft. Playing his first senior game against Carlton in his senior year of high school. From there, he went on to being a key member of the 1993 premiership team in his first AFL season. He also played in the 2000 premiership team. Also that year, he won the W.S. Crichton Medal as Essendon’s best and fairest and he was selected in the All-Australian team.

Playing a total of 400 senior VFL/AFL games, he was noted for his longevity in the game. He went on to become the third player in VFL/AFL history to reach the milestone. Sustaining a groin injury during the match, he was unable to play. This then made that his last game but he holds the outright Essendon games record, having overtaken the previous record of 378 games. He is the second oldest player to play a VFL/AFL game, aged 40 years and 23 days at the time of his final game.
